📸 How to take a screenshot on Mac

If you want to take a screenshot of a certain part of the screen and copy it to your clipboard

Hold down Command⌘ + Control⌃ + Shift + 4 until your mouse cursor changes, then click and drag the portion of your screen you wish to capture and finally let go of the click for it to be copied to your clipboard. You can then paste this captured screenshot as you like.

If you want to take a screenshot of a certain part of the screen and save it to your desktop

Hold down Command⌘+ Shift + 4 until your mouse cursor changes, then click and drag the portion of your screen you wish to capture. Release the mouse to save the screenshot to your desktop.

If you want to screenshot your entire screen and save it to desktop

Hold Command⌘ + Shift + 3 and your screenshot will be saved to the desktop.
