Part 1: Set Up Your B!G Email (Video: Sign In to BIG Email and Setup Authenticator )
Follow these simple steps to set up your email on your phone or laptop.
Step 1: Open Your Web Browser in Your Mobile Phone
- On your personal device (like an iPhone, Android phone, or laptop), open your web browser.
- You can use Safari (on Apple devices) or Google Chrome (on most devices).
- Tap or click to open the browser.
Step 2: Go to the Email Website
- In the address bar (the long box at the top), type:
https://outlook.office.com/mail/ - Press Enter (on a laptop) or tap Go (on a phone).
Step 3: Log In to Your Microsoft Email
- You should see the sign-in page.
- Email: Enter your email address (provided to you).
- Password: Enter your password.
- Click Sign In.
Step 4: Complete Any Extra Steps

When setting up the authenticator app, most likely, you will keep clicking "Next" as you proceed through the steps. However, you may reach a stage where the "Next" button no longer works, and you're unable to proceed further.

If this happens, do the following:
- Go back one step in the setup process.
- Instead of clicking "Next," select the option labeled "I want to use a different authenticator app."
- After selecting this, click "Next" again to proceed.
- If you're asked to verify your identity or set up extra security options (like using an authenticator app), refer to the attached PDF guide for detailed instructions and screenshots.
Step 5: Check Your Email
- Once logged in, you should see your email inbox. You’re all set up with your email!
Part 2: Set Up Your iPad
If you need to reset your iPad before setting it up, follow the steps below. Once your iPad is reset, you can start the setup process.
Step 1: Reset Your iPad (If Needed)
If you need to reset your iPad before starting the setup, follow these steps:

Otherwise, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings on your iPad.
- Tap on General.
- Scroll down and select Transfer or Reset iPad.
- Tap Erase All Content and Settings.
- Confirm by tapping Erase Now.
- If prompted, enter your passcode.
- Wait for the iPad to reset. Once it’s done, you’ll see the welcome/setup screen.
Step 2: Turn On Your iPad
- Find the Power button (usually located at the top) and press and hold it until you see the Apple logo.
Step 3: Start Setting Up
- When the "Hello" screen appears, select your country and language, then tap Next.
- If you see a message asking if you want to start over, tap Start Again.
Step 4: Enroll Your iPad
- When prompted, select the option that says "Enroll This iPad".
Step 5: Sign In with Your Microsoft Email
- Enter your Microsoft email address (the same one you used to log in to Outlook) and tap Next.
- Enter your password and tap Sign In.
Step 6: Enable Location Services
- When asked, check the box to Enable Location Services.
Step 7: Follow the Prompts
- Tap Next and follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the setup.
Step 8: Finish the Setup
- Once you see the main screen with app icons, your iPad setup is complete!

Part 3: Troubleshooting Tips
Here are some common places where you might get stuck or confused during the setup process, especially if you're not very familiar with technology:

Authenticator Setup Issues:
- While setting up the Authenticator in the email, if you see the option to "Download Microsoft Authenticator" or something similar, make sure to choose "I want to use a different authenticator app" instead of just tapping Next. This will allow you to complete the setup correctly as shown in the PDF guide.
- When you're setting up the Authenticator app, after you add your account, make sure to select the third option "Other" instead of "Personal" or "Work/School". This will ensure the setup goes smoothly, as shown in the PDF guide.

Unable to Log Into Your Email:
- If you're having trouble logging into your email, double-check that you're typing your email address and password correctly. Ensure there are no extra spaces or incorrect characters. If you're still unable to log in, try resetting your password. If you're still stuck, please submit a request.

iPad Not Responding or Turning On:
- If your iPad isn't turning on or is unresponsive, make sure it’s charged. Plug it into a charger for a while, then try turning it on again. If it still doesn’t turn on, press and hold both the Power button and the Volume Up button at the same time until you see the Apple logo. This will force a restart.
Part 4: Big Vault Login Using Mircosoft (Video: Sign in to Big X & BIG Vault )
To access Big Vault using your Microsoft account, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open Your Web Browser
- On your iPad, mobile device or laptop, open a web browser like Safari or Google Chrome. (OR Click the big vault app you have and go to Step 3)
Step 2: Go to the Big Vault Login Page
- In the browser’s address bar, type: https://thebigvault.com.au
- Press Enter or tap Go.
Step 3: Click "Log in with Microsoft ID"
- On the login page, find and click the "LOG IN WITH MICROSOFT ID" blue button.
Step 4: Log In with Your Microsoft Email
- Email: Enter your Microsoft email address (the one you set up earlier).
- Password: Enter your password and click Sign In.
Step 5: Verify Your Identity (if prompted)
If prompted for additional security verification, follow the steps on the screen to verify your identity.
Step 5: Access Your Big Vault
Once logged in, you’ll be directed to your Big Vault dashboard, where you can access your files and data.
Part 5: BIGX Login & Password Reset
To log in to the BIGX app using your credentials, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the BIGX App
- On your iPad, mobile device, locate and open the BIGX app.
Step 2: Sign In to the BIGX App
- Email: Enter your Microsoft email address (the one you set up for Big Vault and Microsoft login).
- Password: Enter the password associated with your BIGX account and tap Sign In.
Step 3: Forgot Password or Login Issues?
If you're unable to log in due to an incorrect password or other issues:
- Contact your supervisor to generate a new password for BIGX.
- The new password will be for BIGX only until the upcoming update, which will allow the app to use your Microsoft login details (same as Big Vault).
Step 4: Log In with Your New BIGX Password
- Once your supervisor has generated your new password, go back to the BIGX app, enter your email address and new password, and tap Sign In.
